Plans have been announced to dramatically increase the number of places available at the secure youth detention centre in Everberg in Flemish Brabant.
The Flemish Welfare Minister Inge Vervote (Christian democrat) and the Federal Justice Minister Laurette Onkelinx (Francophone socialist) told a press conference that a total of 124 Flemish young offenders will be able to be housed at Everberg, once work to expand the centre has been completed.
