‘Leftist’ media back down after new report finds park was not cleared for Trump photo-op
Sky News host Rita Panahi says the “anti-Trump” media has sunk even lower with revelations that US Park Police did not clear Lafayette Square for the purpose of granting former president Donald Trump a photo opportunity outside a church.
The remarks come after The Washington Post, which initially published articles critical of the then-president during that event, reported “Park Police didn’t clear Lafayette Square protesters for Trump visit”.
The article published the findings of a report made by US Inspector General Mark Greenblatt which found that “preparations to clear the protesters and erect a fence began two days before the park clearing” in order to protect police.
“Not that I thought it was possible, but the anti-Trump media has sunk even lower with those revelations,” Ms Panahi said. “As apologists for the Black Lives Matter movement, it deftly attributed responsibility for the violence and destruction onto a president who called for order and an end to lawlessness.”
