Italian actress and director Asia Argento, who became a #MeToo leader after being one of the first women to accuse Harvey Weinstein of sexual misconduct, allegedly paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to a man who accused her of sexual misconduct when he was only a minor.
The New York Times reports that in the months following her accusations against Weinstein, “Argento quietly arranged to pay $380,000 to her own accuser: Jimmy Bennett, a young actor and rock musician who said she had sexually assaulted him in a California hotel room years earlier, when he was only two months past his 17th birthday. She was 37.”
