On Friday, the Senate voted on the ongoing question as to whether or not the impeachment trial of Donald J. Trump should include additional witnesses that were not present at the House impeachment inquiry.
Despite the usual defectors voting with the Dems, the GOP had the votes they needed to move on with this nightmare and put it to an end.
Looks like we can look forward to an acquittal next week!
After hours of debate, the Senate voted 51 to 49 to block the Democrat’s motion to call the new witnesses to testify, including former national security adviser John Bolton.
Two Republicans — Utah Sen. Mitt Romney and Maine Sen. Susan Collins — voted with Democrats for new witnesses.
